The problem is that Explorer.exe keeps restarting itself whenever it's accessed, i.e. opening "my computer," etc. I did a System Restore but that didn't fix anything. The only thing I can think of is booting to recovery console, which I'm not sure what to do from there (It's never been any help, aside from fixboot and fixmbr). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like Explorer is crashing due to 'flt.dll'. Find out which application installed the DLL. It doesn't look like a standard system DLL to me, but I don't have XP, so I'm not certain.

Do you have iMesh installed by any chance?

Thanks, I found and deleted flt.dll and also traces of it in my registry. I'm not sure what it was or why it started acting up when it did, but my system's working again. Thanks guys...

*edit*
I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with creative though, because I use an onboard C-Media chip...
