Received a run-of-the-mill Paypal scam email this evening. Nothing so interesting about that (except that it actually made it through my SpamAssassin filter).
BUT...this one was sent to an email address that I created explicitly for a hammocks.com purchase a couple years ago (I create a different email address within my domain for each online store I buy from because I'm paranoid like that). This email address was only used to make that one purchase and has not been used since. I might add that the purchase had nothing to do with Paypal.
So...it would seem that either Hammocks.com has sold their customer database or their servers have been somehow compromised. Single-use credit card numbers rock.
