Interesting new credit card from AMEX!

The new AMEX ONE card.

The American Express One® Card comes with a High-Yield Savings Account that's automatically opened in your name. We will contribute a full 1% of your purchases directly into your FDIC-insured High-Yield Savings Account at American Express Bank, FSB2.

I personally like the concept.

Edit: I suck at linking.

my local news channel was talking about bank of america's new savings account thingy too.

they said you could save MUCH more money in a year by buying cheap coffee in the morning.

or by eliminating one premium cable channel.

or eliminating one extra feature on your cell phone plan!

better than Bank of America's savings account thingy!

Ok I'd guess but not a great deal to those of us who don't use plastic alot.

and for the first year of Cardmembership your $35 annual fee is waived.

Of course everyone COULD do this, but no one does. This makes a person save without changing a thing in their lives. I like it.

Membership fee. Blah.

Exactly. I'll go with my AMEX blue with no fees.

Amex Costco is the best. There's no point in using Blue when Citibank Dividend Platinum Select does the EXACT same thing and with no tiered cashback. You start at 5/1% automatically unlike blue cash which goes from 1/0.5 to 5/1 only if you spend enough.

With Amex Costco you do the 3/2/1 and so when you eat out, use AMEX to get 3% and if you travel, get the 2% and everything else, use Citibank

Blue or Blue cash is a good card, but what's the point of having duplicate rewards? You want to max out for all different categories, so the best way is to do this... I'm wondering if getting Discover Platinum with its 5% for Restaurants, Movie theaters and rental stores might be even better! =] Will do more r esearch

Does AMEX Costco give you back money or a Costco voucher?

The rebate is issued annually in your Cardmember billing statement as a coupon redeemable at Costco.

But... if you pay $45 a year for a Costco membership, presumably you shop there occassionally. So it doesn't make much difference.

bah, just get a 5% cash back card and put the money straight into your ING account

Does that card double your mfg warranty? Protect against merchants that won't return products? Offer ravel insurance?

I've used the various services of AMEX enough to know that they rock at customer service. Too bad BVG isn't around any more. 🙁
