Interesting Monitor Problem...

Ok, I am using a Hyundai L70S 17" right now and I've had it for about a little under a year. Its been perfect, even up to a few hours ago, but today I got home after work and it was stuck in a strange ....umm.. power off power on mode. Thats the best way to describe it. It will power off for about 5 seconds, flash on for <.5 seconds, then power off again for 5 seconds and repeat. During the times it was on, i could see my desktop fine. Also, when disconnected the monitor frm the video card, the power continued to pulse on and off, with the no signal message showing up during the small timeframe of it being on. I changed outlets, and unplugged the power a few times with no luck. Im in the process of finding another cmputer to test it on, but I dont think it will matter, as it does this even when not connected to the video card.

Any idea whats going on or what I should try?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your power supply or the standby (no signal) logic is crapping out. I suspect you're in need of a repair tech.

Yea I tried new power cord but to no avail. I should still be under warranty so I'm emailing Hyundai tonight. Any other suggestions? (and if it is the internal ps or standby logic, is there anything I can do about it?)

Thanks again

Question: "and if it is the internal ps or standby logic, is there anything I can do about it?"

Answer: "I should still be under warranty so I'm emailing Hyundai tonight."

The voltages inside a monitor run around 25,000 to 35,000 volts. Unless you know what you're doing, don't go inside a monitor. The good news is, your fix is on their dime so letting them do it is both cheaper and safer. You may want to check google to see if you can find a toll free number for an even faster answer. 🙂
