interesting. how do the add on cards connect to the main case? and the optical drive? all usb? that would be very slow. esata? some sort of remote pci? good idea though.

I'm pretty sure the modules connect thru some sort of proprietary bus design.

The "add on card" segment appears to have a right-angle riser built into it. This would connect to the card on one side, and the motherboard's PCI slot on the other.

Looks like standard cables. The thing to notice is that as you stack components, you remove the "lid" and move it up to the new "top". So there's free space inside the new, taller case to route cables.

Looks quite clever, provided it actually works.
