Interesting KVM/mouse situation

I use a Linksys PS2 KVM switch for two of my computers with my one monitor.

Yesterday, i was in the middle of a great UT2k4 game when suddenly i lost control of my mouse. It decided to click randomly like crazy, making me like a spectator to my own player 🙁
I thought maybe it was time to a reboot, & managed to get the computer restarted.
Same thing, & my other computer was doing the same thing.
Then i realized my mouse had come loose in the KVM switch.

I am actually posting this just because i am curious. I would have thought the mouse would just quit working if loose, yet it came loose a second time, & again, it would random click, scroll, everything.

Cliffs: Mouse gets loose in KVM switch; goes berserk
OP is curious why is doesn't just quit working; why does poor connection trigger the crazy random control?

because the connection is poor...fix the problem of it coming loose (i.e. move it closer/quit yanking on the cord!)
