Interesting iPhone 6s advantage: SIGNIFICANTLY faster carplay

I've liked carplay on our pioneer nex hu for it's simplicity but the interface all felt 2 steps behind our presses, which was kinda annoying. After upgrading from a 6 to a 6s plus (my wife, still waiting on mine), caplay is at least 5x faster. It's not silky smooth (I'm not sure how much is the nex5000's fault or carplay), but reaction time is at edutament kiosk level vs. ATM level before (if that makes sense). It's a much welcome surprise.

The 6 is deactivated and will be in the mail back to t-mobile tomorrow. I'd say the delay is now 1-missippi vs 2 to 3. The nex5000 is 1st gen carplay so I'm guessing the newer HUs will be even better

Yes, my receiver is first gen carplay and via usb not bluetooth. Not sure why it's much faster, but it is.
