I thought I would do a new thread just so people wouldn't have to scroll through the last one. But I called Asus and found out some interesting news.

I own the Asus A8N-SLI nForce4 SLI (non-deluxe) board. Keep in mind that I haven't even taken this board out of the box yet. I'm building the system tonight.

I called support and inquired about the chipset fan problem that is a known problem not only to other Asus users but to Asus tech support as well. I asked them if it would void my warranty if I removed the stock chipset HSF and replaced it with a more powered one. The guy on the phone explained to me that Asus is well aware of this issue and he told me and I quote:

"Sir how about this, let me create a case # for you and we will go ahead and send you a new, stable, and more powerful chipset HSF free of charge to replace the one you have now. Just use the one that's stock now, and if there is a problem with it you will already have a brand new one for you."

I was blown away from this good service. He could have said that if there was a problem then send the board back and we'll replace the whole board, but he didn't. He offered to go ahead and send a new and stable one that they have created free of charge.

If you guys have problems with yours they have a new, improved and more stable one for our boards.

Two thumbs up for Asus support!

Thanks.
