Interesting if true.

A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.

B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.

C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Now think about this:

Guns:

A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000. (Yes, that is 80 million)

B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year (all age groups) is 1,500.

C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is 0000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do".

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets completely out of hand!!!!!

(Out of concern for the public at large, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention.)

the key is obviously the "accidental" gun deaths...

good times... 🙂

Well, besides that obvious fact, one would have to question the 120,000-physician death number. That means physicians accidentally kill an average of 328.8 persons per day in the US. I'm not buying that at all.

the glaring difference is that not many doctors result in intentional deaths. Can't say the same for guns.

well that and you only go to a doctor because you've got a grave medical condition.

ah yes, the daily post from someone's chain letter email.

just because someone sends this to you in an email does not mean it is true.

interesting if true: if i concentrate hard enough, i can sprout wings from my back and shoot fire from my fingertips.

interesting if true: more people die every year from paper cuts than from lung cancer.

interesting if true: italian and spanish are actually the same language.

who else wants to play? ;-)

Cite your information with links or I am not believing a single one of it. Especially the one that says 120,000 deaths by physicians.
