interesting Idea of mine

does cracking use the ALU or the FPU. If it does use the FPU, could't they write something to use the geforce's on board TnL engine. It is a geometry caculator, anda very powerful one at that. just an idea.

Cracking uses the ALU. 🙁

But Gamma Flux uses the FPU to basically do ray tracing. So I don't see why you couldn't write something for a video card to do GF. Does anyone else?

Hmm, from my experiences with ray tracing in 3D modelling, it is purely the realm of the CPU. A fast video card is great while modelling and manipulating, but when it's render time, the CPU is doing all the work, at least on my software.
