hmm, that's probably what they were listening to in the movie phenomenon. A ham radio frequency in the movie was transmitting morse code at a very high rate. Interesting.

It's embedded codes that if broken down correctly can provide winning combinations for powerball lottery games. The couple in NY that hit it twice is on to it. ;)

Or it could be a series of GPS coordinates being transmitted in an emergency by a fellow cruise ship captain to his colleagues in an attempt to prevent a head on commission....

My Icom ic-r75 picked up quite a few of those stations when I had it set up. Always a womans voice.

I read about them back when I was in 5th grade or so, and for some reason they creeped me out quite a bit.
Over the next few years I had nightmares where a womans voice would be shouting numbers in my head followed by a high pitch tone.

Not really sure what that was about... :confused:

I used to follow a couple with my Icom PCR-1000 a few years ago. They're creepy as hell.
