This is pretty cool. The article notes that this can be done in software but it would have to be done on the CPU and increase the overhead whereas the NPU can do it at lower power cost and possibly more effectively with its neural processing.

This seems like something that a BIOS could accomplish as well, but because this industry has lost its mind...AI.

I like how they can't even actually claim it would be more effective, real convincing when even they don't have confidence that it will be better, and the claim about overhead, especially coupled with the power claim is just absurd. "Hey, we put this chip on to make your card perform worse, it probably isn't any better than just using the software that you'll use with the card anyway, but AI!!!"

Can't wait for mobo makers to start using this stuff to "AI OC" and degrade and destroy CPUs!
