Normally, when you are moving files via a drag/drop in windows explorer, you can close the explorer window leaving the "Moving ..." dialog open.
I was moving some things to a shared network drive (essentially a mapped network drive) and I couldn't close windows explorer while I was viewing the network drive (and the move of files was still in progress). I simply changed hte view to see my C: drive and I could close windows explorer, leaving the "Moving ..." dialog open.
