Im pretty surprised by the numbers, didn't expect my FX 6100 to do this well, or the entire FX line for that matter. :p (look at the fx 6300 or fx 8350, insane performance in this game for the money)

Its not that surprising this game is heavily optimized for AMD that has been common knowledge for quite some time now.

Or you could say the game is properly optimized for AMD for once. Unlike those other games using archaic engines targeting specific uarchitectures (non-AMD).

With those results, haven't we seen something like this before where they cherrypick a certain part of the game only that makes AMD look good, but for most of the game, it isn't an accurate reflection?

Ive been following gamegpu charts for some time now and i can literally count on 2 fingers the number of times ive seen any sign of AMD doing better than intel....90% of the time most intel quads crushed the entire AMD lineup in those charts, sometimes i3's crushing AMD octacores etc...

The previous article from Digital Foundry / EG reporting game developers overwhelmingly choosing AMD FX multicores as the ideal basis for next gen games, means BF4 performance chart is likely a long term trend.

Man those numbers are insane, wonder how they would differ on a single gpu like a 7970/770/780/290x?Glad to see with enough gpu power my chip just barely gets pass 60 minimums which is excellent.

Do like the idea of getting a i7 3770 non k tho,but most likely won't benefit from it with the single 770 i have.:)

Thats been debunked since it was fake.

FX8320 + aftermarket cooling + OC to 4.6GHz will be the best bang for the buck Combo for that Game.
Also the FX9370 + WC combo has an exceptionally nice performance/price.

I didnt check my cpu/gpu usage while playing yesterday, but the rig in my sig with 7870 xfire ran it smooth as butter on ultra settings

Still poor core usage in BF4 retail.

The games is using all eight cores of the CPU. (although two cores are receiving a moderately greater load than the other six.)

The game scales nicely, but I dont see anything revolutionary there for AMD. Seems pretty much like BF3. FX8350 basically ties with i5 and trails i7 by a considerable margin. Considering that the FX8350 is cheaper than 4670k, you could argue it is a good value for the money, but part of that savings would be eaten up in power consumption, and the i5 is still much more well rounded in a variety of games.

Nice to see game.gpu finally updating its processor lineup though.

Hyperthreading is making a huge difference going from the 4670k to 4770k. I don't think I have seen that big of a jump in games.

You know there are good news from AMD CPUs performance when you start to see people spinning it to the power consumption argument. Keep it up boys :awe:

A i7-930 beating a 2500k? Well if true I actually like that because my i7-870 should faster than that 930 and has HT too. A game that profits a lot from HT?

Might be true but I'm doubtful also because of the huge difference between 2600k and 4770k which as already was pointed out could only be explained by AVX2 usage really and not IPC.

The FX6300 looks like the best value for money CPU for running BF4 on it seems,at least going by the chart.

If you only plan on using Nvidia GPUs, yes.

Also if you only plan on running one game on your PC ever.
