BUt the big question is if you could do the same thing with a heavier particle: Then you could use this technoques for nanolithography.

I always love that when they say "this is impossible" - then a few years later, it's been done. If I recall correctly, making dual-layer DVD's for the consumer market was supposedly impossible just a few years ago. Now the drives are on the market.

I believe they have some big hopes for it an lithography. The technique applies for wavelengths shorter than the visible spectrum.
