People that are saying "Just go to the website" are doing it wrong. We're talking about tablets not a laptop.

Considering the platform, that might be their poor but only choice. The 'head in the sand' assertion comes when they try to defend it as a better solution.

LOL. Apple evangelists. What a bunch of nutjobs.

Warning for trolling/thread crapping

This is not an appropriate post for a technical forum. Some will find it insulting, it distracts from the overall discussion and it adds nothing of value to the discussion.

Awesome. Attempt to attack the source because nobody shares your opinion. Nice work, Rush Limbaugh.

Maybe if you went outside of your house (or parents basement, not sure at this point) a little more you would realize people are using tablets for a myriad of things beyond just 'surfing the net'. Go talk to someone, see the world beyond your happy place. I am sure the social anxiety would be too much for you. Not everyone in the world is like you. That is a good thing. A very very good thing.

Ah, the old "parents basement" retort. How creative. And apparently not goosestepping along with your opinion makes me Rush Limbaugh. Are you sure you don't have that backwards? Wouldn't a right wing nut like Limbaugh insist that everyone falls in line with his views, kind of like you're demanding that everyone worship the iPad?

Here we start to see the intelligence of the typical Apple evangelist.

Apple needs to update their slogan to reflect the current cult that surrounds them: "Think different. Like everyone else."

Apple fanbois are "trendy" and define their self worth by the things they own. When you don't recognize those things as superior to stuff you happen to like, it threatens their self esteem, and they lash out at you.

I post a list of the most popular paid apps on the iPad and you retort by completely ignoring the fact that 25% of the apps on the list are productivity apps.

You sidestepped the actual reason I posted the article. You instead, attempt to mock the users of a product, instead of how they actually use it. You wrote a retarded response about simplistic games. Fact is, people use the iPad as much more than a consumption device. They use it to be productive. It might not be the best tool for the use at all times. However it is still being used for productivity by hundreds of thousands of people. This isn't an opinion. This is a fact. Let me repeat that for you: A fact. You only posted opinions. I am posting facts. No matter what you think of people who use the ipad as a productivity device, it is happening all around you. It isn't a glorified web browser, and you my friend, are wrong. No way around it.

Continue to call me stupid and an iPhan. I dont care, I dont give a shit. It only ruins your credibility. I never posted anything about worshiping the iPad. I posted a response that is in direct contrast with your comment of it only being a glorified web browser.

I expect consistently great performance without compromising sophistication or security. So I will stick to IOS Apps.

I read the entire thread once again, but when I came across this little gem, I couldn't resist anymore. There, in a nutshell, you have the entire philosophy for Apple cultists. They think they're "sophisticated" and "secure". Oh, let's not forget "magic".

As an added bonus, here's another inane statement from the same person: "My friend owns a 32GB Galaxy ... he religiously reboots it every couple of days because it slows down after extensive use. "

Dude, I know a guy who owns a friggin' Mercedes and he says he regrets the Chevy Cavalier he had before.... geddit?

My SO and I are Galaxy Tab owners (mine is almost one year old already). I have no idea why your friend is smoking, 'cause we definitely don't have these problems. And yes, we use the tablets extensively.

What have you produced on your productivity iPad?

The only 'productive' thing I do on my iPad is draw pictures in draw something and download movies onto my NAS. I never said I did. I was pretty shocked when I saw that 25% of the all time paid apps are productivity apps. People all over are using the iPad for this reason. The numbers don't lie.

Which is another way of saying 75% of the way iPads are used is for simple games.

You sidestepped the actual reason I posted the article. You instead, attempt to mock the users of a product, instead of how they actually use it. You wrote a retarded response about simplistic games. The article set out to mock Android. The whole premise of this thread is based on fanboyish devotion to a particular consumer good. I have two Android phones, one personal and one from work. I read and respond to e-mail and use the web from them. None of the apps you posted have any relevance to my life, yet the fanboys in this thread keep insisting that everyone must bow down and worship at the holy altar of Apple because everything else "sucks." You then use statistical anomalies about some kid typing 110wpm to prove that the future is the iPad and nothing but the iPad. If the fastest person in the world wears Nike shoes, do all other shoes suck?

Continue to call me stupid and an iPhan. I dont care, I dont give a shit. It only ruins your credibility. I never posted anything about worshiping the iPad. I posted a response that is in direct contrast with your comment of it only being a glorified web browser.

This whole thread is about worshipping the iPad. "Android sucks, it doesn't have Garageband!!!!!" People like you are ridiculous.

Do you do anything productive on a PC? If so, why don't you use an iPad instead?

iPad:
- far better selection of apps and games, including some surprisingly good productivity apps
- superb build quailty
- best screen available on a tablet
- fast, dead-simple OS
- never have to worry about getting left behind with OS updates
- iCloud backup simply by choosing one option during initial setup

Android:
- can root it and install custom builds/side-load apps
- SD card and USB thumb drive support
- lots more customization options like widgets, new keyboards, launchers, etc
- bigger selection of hardware
- able to overclock
- file system access

Did it ever occur to you Android fans that the reason iPad is trouncing Android tablets isn't because iPad users are a bunch of mindless sheep. . . but simply because iPad is a better choice for the vast majority of users (at least in the $350+ price range)?

Not everybody is a computer geek who values openness and flexibility. And even some geeks would rather have a device that just works and provides a great user experience with zero hassle. That doesn't make them any less intelligent, and it doesn't make them "sheep".

Instead of getting in ridiculous arguments about how apps are useless anyway, or how gaming isn't important, or how a walled garden is so horrible (as if iPad users just aren't smart enough to realize that they should want what you want). . . it's time for Android fans to realize that most people aren't like you.

Dude. This isn't about me. Ive posted proof that people use the iPad as more than what you think they use it for. I have said that the iPad might not always be the best choice for being productive, but its damn convenient. 3,000,000 people bought one last weekend, do you really think 100% of them bought it just as a consumption device?

I can post multiple articles showcasing the iPad being used as a way increase productivity. I can post multiple examples for multiple industries. I still don't think that will convince you of anything though.

The last page or so is mostly personal attacks. I'm locking, and then I'll go back and hand out infractions or warnings once I've had some time to think about it.
