Interesting article on TDU 1, 2, and something new for 2014

Looks like we wont be getting a TDU3. And whatever we get from this point on will be run by Ubisoft.

Well, TDU 2 was such a mismanaged pile of excrement, that I'm relieved there won't be a direct sequel.
I was in the beta back then, and it was just horrible. The beta was failing left and right, with all manners of bugs, and player commentary, and then they just stopped it arbitrarily at some point, and declared the game done.
By that point I was certain I would not buy it, and even when it was on a 5 dollar steam sale, I couldn't do it.
I had the distinct impression, that the casino got more developer attention than the driving model and multiplayer synchronisation...

So a ground up new game would be much appreciated.

the Gold wasnt any better. Too much focus on Facebook type crap and not enough on racing. The car physics were crap. Car selection was meh.

would buying a PC-DVD game from Amazon UK cause any issues with region coding, like there is on DVD and Blu-Ray movies that are Region 2?

(No idea if there's a similar system with PC games on DVD as there is with DVD & blu-ray movies.)

I know. After TDU1 all they had to do was improve the driving model. A different island and some new cars. Instead we got absolute trash

Pretty much. And so far nothing else has been comparable to TDU1. GTA is just an action game that happens to let you use cars. The NFS title's are lacking in fun. Every thing else is a career bases simulator that only let's you use one car in a given race.

Oh great.I succumbed to temptation,and pre-ordered The Crew (PC-DVD) from Amazon UK.

Kind of expensive,but hopefully the price will drop before it's released here in the US.
