So doctors are just a bunch of sick fucks that like to poison people and cut women's tits off?

While milking the American tax payer and the government fucking dry.

We ought to outlaw this bullshit already. If god wanted you to die or be sick, you would fucking be dead or sick. You're just telling god you know better than him and playing the role of the lord himself by fighting your fate with all these ridiculous treatments and medicines. 🙄

@Mark R

Agreed actually, not so sure on the diagnosis either. Did they really just do it by x-ray? Hmm...

I don't think this would have been normal.

However, I could well imagine that surgical biopsy may not have been considered an option if the patient was over 60. So, the diagnosis may have been based on an X-ray abnormality consistent with a tumor which failed to get better following a prolonged course of antibiotics.

40 years ago, thoracic surgery was a big deal and most hospitals couldn't offer it.

These days, we have minimally invasive techniques such as video flexible bronchoscopy (which is the normal way of getting tissue diagnosis of lung cancer) or video assisted surgery/mediastinoscopy, or CT guided percutaneous biopsy. This usually allows a pathological diagnosis in all but the most extremely frail patients.

If he simply tried to stay in America and replicate his lifestyle back home by sipping wine and gardening he probably would have died as expected. A dramatic environment change seems good for cancer pt's.
Or maybe he had one of several different conditions that could be mistaken for cancer on X-ray chest films in the 1970s without performing biopsies (and still could be today). e.g. Suzanne Somers was told cancer had infiltrated her lungs and elsewhere (metastatic) based on chest films AND a CT scan. The biopsy showed it was simply a fungal infection (disseminated Valley Fever).

Oops, I see Mark R has covered much of it.

No, no no. If god didn't want you to go to the doctor he would kill them all himself. He has never had any compunction about doing it in the past. Therefore god wants you to take all the treatments and medicines.
