As i stated, I am anxious to purchase one of these babies but am sort of lost when it comes to its performance.

For reference, I live on the 14th floor of a 17th floor building in philadelphia.

I am on 32nd st. and market and our windows face north, while Center City(where all the antennas are is to my west around 15th...

I know the siganls go for miles, but I really don't want to get a good antenna(no $)

In addition, my building is w-shaped, with me at the bottom of a U.

So I have NO line-of-sight...

How will reception be if i get JUST the card...nothing else?

I have no cable/Satelite so there is more motivation....

If reception would not be adaquate, how much is an antenna?

what are the links to check reception by the way?

..thanks.

so how to the hiPix and the MyHD cards compare...?

THis will only be displayed on my monitor, but I still want good quality

I saw the demo 'clips' floating around the AVS forums and wow....the resolution let you see EVERYTHING;)

Antenna Web might help you out.

My suggestion is to buy a cheap indoor antenna and see how it picks up standard broadcasts. If they come in well there is a good chance HDTV broadcast reception will be the same.

Buy the antenna from a place with a good return policy, just incase it doesn't work out.

BTW, I believe you will need some type of antenna. A card by itself, with no input, just won't cut it.
