As a small business owner and Tech at a retail computer shop have dealt with a few desktops that are called bookshelf PC's. They are litteraly about the size of an encyclopedia. They have just enough room for one drive, cd rom. and 2 pci cards. They have had built in video, sound, modem, nic. I have had them in the past at the shop for both celeron, and pIII S370. the barebones set usually sells for $399, (case and board, plus cd rom and floppy drive, just add chip ram, and hard drive) on a celron set. Celeron board went up to 566, PIII went to 700. I can't get these anymore since my vendor is out of stock and isn't buying more. (something about not being popular I guess) But I know they are out there. I liked them. The whole board unit slid out like an old Mac Performa to add components or perform maintenance. Look around the web. I am sure they can be found easily.
