Yup. GPU or CPU, tried both.

My 1060 has been idle for a few days now, so I moved it back to GPUGrid for the time being. Mark, I'm sure GPUGrid would very much appreciate your fleet of GPUs and it might even help bump the team's project rank. They might as well do something meaningful. At least until Stanford can get their issues sorted out.

Can you pick two colors other than red and black? My colorblindness is enough that they essentially look the same unless I concentrate. Either that or can the line be thicker?

That occurred to me. AnandTech's colors are sort of red, white, and black. So are Tom's Hardware's. Any suggestions?

Edit: I'm now using a blue from the AnandTech homepage.

I was going to fire up my 2nd rig to get an early start on F@H, but I think I'll hold fire for now!

opening up the FAHControl Client Advanced Control on my desktop and seem to be having some "Connecting" problems. It says at "Connecting" for very long time. i remember once today i didn't do anything and got a GPU project and a CPU project here and there. But lots of time spent idle. Is this normal?
No it isn't normally anywhere near this bad, but it seems that F@H HQ has been sucked dry of WUs due to the exceptional high demand of so many extra people & a few companies joining in!😳

the main issue is the work units are really small, i am finishing the CPU units in less than 2 hours (some are 40 minutes) and same for GPU

other issue is the client only trys 2 servers then 2x the retry count (i pause and resume my idle clients when i get back in as 2-3 hours retry is Way to long when i restart them they get a work unit in 5 minutes), the retry delay needs to be shorter and it needs to try all servers not just the same 2 server like 5 times (as i have to restart my client about 5 times before it will even bother to use a different server that responds or gives me a work unit)

If they had every GPU ping every work server every minute, I'm sure the load on the servers would be even worse.

Besides, before all this kicked off, there were only four work unit servers and each project type was only on 1-2 at most.

Iam not sure how these server things work, but with Seti shutting down
today or tomorrow they have a lot of hardware they could lend F@H or
WCG, or am I crazy.

No you're lane42 😉

Yea I bet that they'll be a large influx of users from SETI to F@H & other DC projects.
Myself I'll be switching my CPU from SETI to Rosetta@H, seeing as F@H is already struggling to keep up with the large influx of users last week. Not to mention the CPU's contribution to F@H pales in comparison to the GPU.

I know I posted this elsewhere, but if your having difficulty getting work units the following might be helpful:

client-type: advanced might help you (works for both cpus and gpus):
https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/installation-guides/configuration-guide/#advanced-methods

it might be helpful to obtain work units early:
https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/installation-guides/configuration-guide/#next-unit-percentage
Default is to wait until 99% done, but I would suggest setting it to 90%.

Good to see ya back John 🙂, yea I'm still around, although I was only around sporadically until recently, when for some reason I suddenly had a load of spare time! 😛
But I think I'm back in properly now.
Oh btw, RattleDagger posted in the F@H race thread recently, if you remember him? 😉
