i have an emigrant account and each month I've gotten over $100 in interest for several months now.

i realize it's a bit "duh" but it's like another small income source and makes me want to be cheep ass and save even more. :D

$100/mo on $24k? I can get a much, MUCH better return than that spending minimal time after work.

We're finally back up to decent rates again, and it's much sweeter to be earning interest than paying it out.

I don't have much in a savings account right now though, most of my cash is in CDs.

this is risk free on autopilot tho.

certain funds in my 401K have much better returns, somewhere between 10-15%, but i don't have that much appetite for risk.

You know what's even better than interest? Dividend. Nothing better than getting dividend check every 3 months and having stock price go up. Double reward. :)

If the OP has a good percentage of his assets invested, then more power to him. But if he's keeping the majority in his Emigrant account, all I can think is "what a waste". Right out of high school, I was earning a lot more per month with a lot less assets.

You're not ready to assume any risk, so why do you care?

When you change your mind, you can spend an hour reading through the ATOT Stock Market thread.

Wow man, you are so cool. You must have read the guide that says "If you want to act cool, go on the internet and talk condescending to people." Why not explain your point nicely instead of being such a jerk.
