Ive just got a new/old computer with a fresh installation of XP Pro SP3. Im trying to connect to the internet but its not happening. The connection is recognized, meanings on Network Places it says that its connected and the little internet connection taskbar icon shows that its connected/active, but I cant browse to any pages. Its as if the connection is there but the computer isn't recognizing it, if that makes sense.
Here are the bare specs for the comp:
Dell Optiplex GX400
XP Pro SP3
AVG Free 8.0
Motorola Surf Board SB5101
Network Adapter: 3Com 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller (3C905C-TX Compatible)
Rogers DSL connection
All drivers are to date.
I should also mention Ive always used the same modem and its never given me any problems. Iv also tried to repair the connection as well via right click and all.
