Hi,
Been at this for over 14 hours now. I have two computers, one running win 2000 and the other 98se. The win 2000 is the host computer sharing the internet connection. (DSL) These computers are connected via crossover cable. I just re installed windows xp on a dell deminsion dektop for a famill member and set it in the place of the "sharing" computer to retrieve microsoft updates quickly to get it up to par.
Heres the problem:
I can connect to the internet, some pages will open fine, some will open and never finish loading or if they do alot of graphics are missing, or the links to the graphics. some pages will never open and time out with "page cannot be displayed" error. So I connected using the dialup with no problem. This leads me to the network connection between the computers. I am also running some of my web site from the fhost computer with IIS installed. I can also ping the web sites, and the ones that will load will return. Some will return the address, but then time out. I moved cookie settings, privacy settings, turned off firewalls. Repaired winsock. I at the end. I've also reinstalled the operating system again, thinking something may be corrupted. Nothing.
Thanks,
Casey
