Interconnecting software?

Say I have a Desktop and a Laptop. What software/package can I use to
easily share file between these 2?

Assuming you're using Windows on the two machines and have NICs installed in them, why not just use the inbuilt networking features of the OS? That's certainly more than adequate for file sharing.
