Don't you hate it when you upgrade your system to Windows XP, and then everything stops working?
Anyway, I have an InterAct Hammerhead FX that used to work on the gameport of my gf's SB Live!.
When she moved from WinME to WinXP, InterAct didn't provide any drivers for NT/2K/XP. OK, so I decided to use the generic 6-button gamepad driver included with XP. The problem is, the Game Controller dialog panel states the gamepad is "Not connected". It is connected, it is stated as existing and working properly in Device Manager/Human Interface Adapters, and the Creative Live! Gameport (Device Manager/Sound, video, game controllers) is also reporting no problems. And I've made sure this thing is plugged in, believe me.
Is this an XP thing, or just a bad driver issue? Has WinXP turned this two year old gamepad into a paperweight?
P.S. I've heard of gameport to USB adapters, but where can you find one in Canada?
