Intel's latest iGPU board DG45ID does not support the C2Q 9650 and 9550

I picked up an Intel DG45ID for my HTPC setup and it does not support the Q9550 processor. I swapped out the processor with a 9650 and it doesn't work either. However it works fine with a 9450.

When I power on the system with the 9550 or 9650 the board throws me a message that the processor is not supported by the board and that I should check the processor compatibility list for the motherboard. I did this and Q9650 and Q9550 are reported as being supported.

Any ideas? I am very disappointed that Intel's own motherboards cannot support Intel's latest processors! Disgusting! I think I will return the board and go the Nvidia way now. I hear their soon to be launched MCP7x chips are going to be great.

Did you update the motherboard to the latest Bios and does the latest bios support that cpu? might want to check if you haven't yet. Just a suggestion. 🙂
