"AMD Ryzen AI PRO processors are now powering Dell's new commercial PC lineup. This marks the first time that Dell is offering a full portfolio of commercial PCs, including notebooks, desktops, and workstations, based entirely on Ryzen processors. "

Intel has always incentivized, and when needed, strongarmed partners to remain exclusive. If not in actuality, certainly in the practical sense.

OK, I get that. It's also why I said Opteron in particular. The Athlon 64's were probably just a token effort. Honestly, Dell should get bent for taking Intel money to blacklist AMD. At least HP & Compaq tried back then but the pressure from Intel was probably strong.

Indeed, Dell has adopted AMD products for companies. I don't think all corporate products are now AMD products.

Always has been. But Intel can't afford it anymore. And rapture lake sealed the deal. Look at the mass layoffs and biz issues Dell has been experiencing. Part of that was the failing CPUs.
Well, that's a good thing competition is
Exactly. Do you think we could get a 265K for 259$ if AMD were not winning the latest rounds in this decades long fight?

Dell sells a PC with a faulty Raptor Lake in it
Customer complains
Dell must either: a). service the faulty PC, paying labor while Intel provides replacement parts, b). replace the faulty PC, eating pretty much the entire cost themselves, or c). tell the customer to pound sand and risk losing future sales.

Enough of that happens and heads will roll.

Well, countermeasures are required
I think Intel has to take the warranty of the CPU even if it is made by the manufacturer.

It's a retraction of the previous statement
After all, Intel must go bankrupt
AMD never corrupts

Intel has their own arrangement with Dell and is (probably) on the hook to replace faulty parts. But Intel isn't (necessarily) on the hook for the costs associated with those component replacements. Plus if you're a customer who has to send in an entire PC to get a replacement part, you're not going to be happy!

Now imagine being forced to process hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of extra claims because of Raptor Lake. That's a lot of scratch Dell loses because Intel sold them a bum steer.

Is that Raptor Lake a Raptor Lake-S?

It seems that Intel is still paying a mammoth portion of OEM's advertisement spending (including Dell). We will see if this is sustainable (for Intel) or if it changes...

-S or -HX, which I believe were the only ones to have problems.
Even with an S, it's true that it's the top models with 600 or higher i5s that are mainly confirmed.
I've never heard of a model below that
Perhaps because of the high clock, I feel that the percentage of the number of SKUs with K is high.
I've heard that HX also has a problem.

Yah that was what I was getting at. Tan is gutting the rest of the company to extend the life of the foundry an extra year or two.

Trolling and flame bait are not allowed
When I was criticizing Intel with Reddit, I got a warning from the Reddit administrator.
I'm doing justice, It's been deleted though
It's outrageous

I don't know what you think the constant vendor bashing will accomplish, but it isn't having the effect you were hoping for. We are getting report after report by other members concerning these posts. That by definition makes it flame bait and trolling. Please desist. In the dojo we have a saying - "The nail that sticks out gets hammered down." I am giving you a one day ban to calm down. Instead of ranting and raving constantly, try forwarding the discussions by contributing intellectually instead of emotionally.
