Intel's 865PE and 875p

Can someone please explain the difference between these two and if the p4p800 deluxe would run both of em. :confused:

That is a difference of chipset, 875P is more expensive Intel chipset that uses PAT (performance acceleration technology), in general 5-6% better. 865PE has no PAT, don't know of P4P800 as they say that ASUS uses something similar. In either case P4P800 is 865PE chipset.

The 865Pe and 875P are chipsets, either will run that processor just fine. If that is what your asking.

not really... let me rephrase my question.
i am building a new pc. the motherboard that caught my eye is the Asus p4p800 deluxe which runs the 865pe chipset. the description of the cpu i want is from newegg.com and they dont specify the type of chipset that p4 is, so basically id like to know what it is: a 865pe or a 875p and whether that even matters for the p4p800 deluxe.

The chipset doesn't matter as that is part of the motherboard. The motherboard and CPU are totally different. The 3.0C will work on that board.
