Buy.com's deal of the day:

Link

I picked up two...only 15 left.

Update: 497 left...they "magically" discovered more stock. Interesting tactic.

Isn't this the older MS optical mouse? I think you might be better off getting the newer models, even if they are more expensive. I love my intellimouse explorer. :)
Maybe try:
MS optical at Amazon.com

Yeah, it's the older version. But they are pretty cheap--I already own one and like it quite a bit. I also do own an Intellimouse Explorer, but that thing is pretty expensive (I got mine from Value America, way back when for cheap).

If this is anything like Buy.com "Dymo labeler" deal of the day
from last week, all those "available" numbers mean is the number
of suckers who'll waste their time ordering only to have
Buy.com tell them...much later...that they never had them
in stock, never will have them in stock, and kiss my hairy butt if
you don't like it...

Hate to say it, but Buy is now on my "is suck" list. Again.

Actually, I don't hate saying it. Either.

I have one of these right now and love it. Unfortunately, I'm starting to have problems (of course, I got it the 2nd week they were out, so it is kinda old and has suffered a bit of abuse). I'm ordering 2, as I prefer this one to the explorer. Thanks for the post.

i hate the feel of the explorer... i've always loved this mouse. i bought 3 of them when they first came out. I also have 2 newer optical "supposedly" superior lasers, and i think they suck.

I've had two of these and neither one lasted over six months. The best thing is that Microsoft replaced them both with Intellimouse Optical's with the thumb buttons and all, no questions asked.

My only problem is when you move your mouse really fast left or right, it will squiggle around and even go backwards. Ive noticed this with the logitech mice too. Optical mice get confused on fast movements.

Well, if this is the old design, I'd be a little weary of getting these. I had one, and I had to have MS replace it cuz it died. The CS rep that I talked to said that there was a problem with how these mice were designed so thats why they had to change the design.

I got mine replaced with an optical explorer, and it feels ~ok~ but i really like the feel of the intellimouse. I wish it had come with the OEM finish of the intellimouse w/ balls (cuz it didn't as dirty very quickly).

OK I bought this mouse when it first came out. Anyhow it had two odd problems: if using
USB, I would have to hit alt-tab for it to click objects and it would often
flicker out and die in windows. It's now my new Mac mouse.

Well that mouse was replaced yesterday. Got myself a new intellimouse optical - the newer 4 button one that isn't as
large as the older 4 button model. I'm hooked on the fwd/backward
buttons...

Last year, I bought one of these for work and another for the wife to use with her laptop (on sale about $26 each). Both are still working well. I just ordered more under this deal. One will go to my sister who has cats; she protects her keyboard but the mouse gets full of hair.

I actually enjoy the form-factor of this older mouse. I have the Intellimouse Explorer, as well, and the extra buttons are great, but the original Intellimouse shape was quite comfortable, IMHO.
