Intellimouse functionality

Just put together a new system, and installed the Intellipoint 3.2 software. After a couple of days, the wheel functions stopped working. The mouse doesn't show up in the dropdown list any more. Tried re-installing the software and a Knowledge Base article to no avail. I'm running Windows Me. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
