Intellimouse Explorer skips in Outlook XP

I've got an Intellimouse Explorer (Running off USB->PS/2 Adaptor -> Belkin KVM -> USB port on my computer) on my Windows XP Pro machine. It runs fine 99% of the time, except when I'm in Outlook. Whenever I open a folder with an e-mail in it (or open outlook today), the light goes out on the mouse & outlook goes crazy (switching folders, ect.). It only does it in Outlook, and only in folders with e-mail (or outlook today). I've got it running it's default driver & installed intellipoint 4.0.
