Intellimouse Explorer Sensitivity Problem

Hello,

I'm running Windows XP with default drivers at 1600x1200 with a refresh rate of 85hz. I know refresh rate, Windows sensitivity, and acceleration should be the only factors affecting mouse speed.

After joining a Counter-Strike game (this is when I first noticed and is not necessarily the cause), the sensitivity has become much faster than it was (still on the same levels in game and in Windows) both in game and in Windows. For example, even on the first notch of sensitivity, I can move the mouse around a bit -- if you try this, you probably won't be able to move it at all. I'd prefer not to move down a notch in Windows because I already had sensitivites set in the games I play. This post: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=27&threadid=574450&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=arc has a similar problem. I've tried installing the Intellimouse drivers, which did nothing, so I uninstalled them. I've tried various refresh rates, which strangely don't seem to affect sensitivity (I'm using RefreshForce). I'm also using the mouse fix so I have no acceleration, and precision pointing is unchecked.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

turn off mouse filtering in CS and turn off acceleration / enhance pointer precision in the drivers

and turn the sensitivity a little up

it is much better this way for me cuz pointer precision / mouse filtering hurts me in cs because how fast you move the mouse not how far determines where the pointer will go so it is very hard to snipe in CS with that on for me

because if i am just sliding it slowly that it hardly moves at all even across half my desk

i believe it is called enhance pointer precision w/ intellipoint drivers

acceleration should be low or none w/ windows standard drivers

and mouse smoothing / filtering should be off in CS

you should then adjust the sensitivity to what you want in windows/ cs and i bet that'll fix ur problem

I've already turned off precision and am using the CPL Mouse Fix to take away all acceleration. I like having a low sensitivity for long range shooting, but maybe this increase is just my imagination?
