Intellimouse Explorer question

I've had one now for about 8 months. I did a complete re-install yesterday. When I ran the Intellimouse software, I chose the Explorer. It seemed to load without problem. Then, when I went to configure my buttons, it doesn't show the Explorer, but 6 other types instead. So, I went and downloaded version 3.1 (I have ver 3.0). Same problem. I had it working before the re-install. What am I doing wrong and/or missing? Thanks for any help.

Uninstall all traces of the old intellipoint software, reboot, then download/install Intellipoint 3.2

I had the same problem with windows ME and went back to the 3.1 drivers so I would have a gameport,with the newer driver.It would not load the joystick in game control??.
