You can get a similar deal from staples, on the Intellimouse Optical, which IMO is the best optical mouse MS makes. Regular price is $49.95, add rubberbands to get over $50, and then use the $20 off $50 coupon to bring the grand total down to $30. And I think they still have free shipping on orders over $50.

Which mouse is better? I heard the newer Microsoft Optical mouses have a better led/optical lens that tracks things 30% better. Is this one better than the $70 MS grey Explorer one?

I think they fixed the cable problem that they had with the original grey MS Explorer in the MS Optical Mouse. I know the two my cow orkers bought became useless rather quickly when the cable came just loose enough to make it stop tracking as well. The butt lights up on the MS Optical too :). It's a little smaller then the explorer, so it fits in your hand better.

And free shipping is free standard shipping. Like I said before, I'm not sure if thats still valid for orders over $50. I'm not sure if they discount the other shipping options like BestBuy.com does.

The one at staples is not the same one at amazon. The Amazon one is the grey one (the better one)

so the grey one is the better one? CUz I know the grey one came out first, then the newer White one. So shouldn't the white one be better since it came out later? like they'll improve on the technology and stuff?

the difference between the "grey one" and the "white one" is that the grey one is shaped such that only the right hand can hold it comfortably and the two extra buttons are on the left side of the mouse. The white one is shaped for the comfort of both hands and has one extra button on each side. I've had the grey one for several months now and the paint where i rest my fingers has started to come off. I can see clearly the spots where i rest my thumb, index finger, and middle finger. I hope this paint is not toxic hehe. I dunno if that will happen with the white mouse.

Uh,by "grey one" i mean the intellimouse explorer and by "white one" i mean the Intellimouse Optical. There is also a third mouse with the optical technology called the "intellimouse with intelliEye" that is just a regular old ms intellimouse with the ball/wheel mechanism replaced and no extra buttons.

i don't understand how this amazon coupon of 15 off 100 is working as 15 off 50.

either i'm not getting something here which is my fault, or you people are lying about this which is fu**ed up.

The coupon has just suddenly started working for a minimum of $50. Don't ask why. Just place your order and use the coupon, and it will work. I just did it today.

For the question of whether the grey or white mouse (Intellimouse Explorer or intellimouse optical), at staples the grey explorer costs $70, and the white optical costs $50, which would lead me to believe that the grey explorer is the better of the two mouses.

the MS IntelliMouse is much more sturdy and well built than the white one...the white one feels really cheap
