i just bought an Intellimouse Explorer Optical version 3.0. This thing supposedly scans 6000 times per second. I already had the Intellimouse Optical and the differences betweent the two are really close if you ask me. I think the Explorer is actually more responsive, but not as much as I I would like. If you're a gamer, I think this mouse is just barely adequete.

The mouse works great for me. I love the two side buttons, and its big shape. It improves my gaming alot. You do need to find a decent mouse pad for it though.

I have the 2.0 version. I got the 1.0 years ago and love it to death, I got the 2.0 version free from warenty due to the 1.0's untimly death.

I love the Explorer for gaming. It does go the opposite way if you move it too fast, but I have yet to move the mouse that fast in a game.

I had one that had a doubleclick problem (single clicking caused doubleclicking). I called them and they sent me another without taking the old one back. I have no idea what version it is, but, it does not have any problems... well except for the fact that if I use the newer intellimouse drivers and connect the mouse to my Hawking 2port KVM Switch, and I scroll in internet explorer it goes back/forward pages automatically when you hit the top/bottom. Does NOT do it with native win98 intellimouse drivers, just the extra software that lets you use the additional buttons and assign tasks.

WinXP must use the newer drivers because the problem happens there as well. Since it only happens with the switchbox installed I don't think it'll be patched--but--it should be capable of being fixed in software since the regular drivers do not cause the problem.

Oh well.
