I have an 24/7 dsl connection that uses DialUP to createa VPN tunnel to my ISP.
Sometimes, although rarely, the connection stops to send and recive packages but is still "connected".
Which means that when I try to ping my ISP I get timeouts.
I was wondering if there exists a service that could ping a given IP address every X minutes and
if it doesn't get a reply within Z seconds it would terminate the DialUP connection and reconnect.

So does such a service exist or do I have to program one?
