'Intelligent' guns...

Some time ago I heard about a new safety measure for guns, which involved some kind of chip which would only enable the use of the gun if the owner was holding it. It used fingerprints for identification.

Any updates on this?

Last I read on it, they were still working out some kinks in that. Just imagine the lawsuits that would pour in, if someone was killed by an attacker because the gun would'nt fire due to some electrical or signal problem.

I hope you and your family will never need one. They rarely need to be used, but I am 24 years old, and they have saved my families lives twice so far by owning one.

just wait for the word 'mandatory' to start popping up as it has with trigger locks..then things will really suck. it is simply amazing how people interpret 'shall not be infringed' yet can somehow derive the right to a legal abortion off of the privacy clause which made no mention of pregnancy.

weird how things work isn't it. they'd have you believe that abortion is a constitutional right.. oh wait they already have done that to us now haven't they. so I guess since 'shall not be infringed' actually means 'shall be infringed when we feel like it' we could add an ammendment that says 'a woman's right to an abortion shall be infringed when we feel like it' and it should mean the exact opposite?

Intelligent guns make alot of sense for a child who reaches for his father's gun while playing with the neighbor's son.

They are a Liberal's dream and in reality a nightmare. Everything fails...and everything can be defeated...there is no such thing as a 'safe gun,' only Safe Gun Owners.

As others have said, the only thing intelligent about the gun, is the person weilding it. At times, I doubt even that.....
