Me: How was the universe created?
Chemicals and stuff
Me: And how were the chemicals created?
Science!
Me: and how was science created?
Uhhhhhhh

your questions are loaded.
How was blablabla "created" implies a creator.
Therefore your questions are null and void.

The correct answer to all three of those biased and loaded questions is of course, "I am not sure."

Anything else is just opinion. Some people choose to base their opinions on what little facts we have seen, those people believe in evolution. Some people choose to base their opinions on their religious beliefs, those people are creationalists.

I just saw 'Contact' on HBO, got me thinking about all this junk again. And Larry King had a debate about this a little while ago on his show w/ a science professor, a pastor, the leader of the "Discovery Institute", and Deepak Chopra.

By the way, who the heck is Deepak Chopra?

Just my two cents:
If any, I mean any, part of intelligent design is true, it invalidates basically all of natural science- including Physics, Chemistry, Biology (obviously).

You simply cannot have a "greater being" involved in our understanding of the natural world - our understanding of nature comes from observation and independent interpretation/validation of those laws.

I'm not saying Christianity is false or anything like that- it just operates on a completely different sphere of thought than science. Each has its own niche in the human psyche- separate but equal.

More later.
