Intelimouse optical, need a hand please..

I have the 5 button optical but something is a little shady. When I go to the MS mouse configuration in the start menu it only gives me the option to configure the right and left buttons and the wheel scroll.. There are no options to set the thumb buttons. Is it that I need to reinstall the software again to see if I missed something. I should be able to configure the other two buttons plus it would really help in CS to have them working as well. 🙂
 
do you have the newest intellipoint installed? if not, i'd suggested downloading it from Microsoft

It *should* give you the option to pick a type of mouse to configure, of which the optical is one choice...
 
In the set-up utility there is a drop down box at the top to pick the mouse ( so I can configure it ) you use but the intelli optical is not even one of the mice available. I have tried to choose them all and none of them give an option of the thumb buttons. Most of the choices are just 2 button mice and some wheel mice. No optical 5 buttons though. 🙁

dunno...just go to microsoft.com and go to downloads and search for intellipoint.

definitely dowload and install the newest

doesn't matter which version you have now
