Intelimouse Optical back and forward buttons dont work

My intelimouse optical back and forward buttons arent working. They only work after I restart the computer, it works for a while than quits working. I am guessing this is a software problem, what could be the reason?

R u using USB? Make sure it's connected correctly. Perhaps you might want to download either "Intellipoint 3.2 or 4.0" which may help you. Intellipoint 4 was posted on these forums as one of the members is hosting the file. Do a search for it, it's 10meg though.

Sounds like your mouse isn't being identified properly. Try reinstalling the Intellipoint software. Also, some KVM switches have problems with the optical mice (if you're using one?).
