Will I have to change anything if I put an Intel Celeron 1.0 Gig Processor in the place of my ASUS PII99 350mhz processor?

Now i am confused.

In a earlier post i seen you ask about an abit BH6 & how high you could upgrade your cpu in that.

Now i see you post about an Asus PII99,what board do you have? an Asus or a Abit?

Either way if you're running a PII350 you will very likely need a bios upgrade to suport the newer celerons.

Hehe...sorry for confusion, I am very newbie to this. I have a manual from the guy who built the computer that says BH6 on it. I called that guy and asked what kind of processor i could get to upgrade it. Long story short, he said that the processor was a ASUS PII99 which made little sense to me. So anyway, I thought that ASUS PII 99 was the name of the processor and BH6 was the motherboard. Any suggestions in what I should do would be very helpfull. Also, I cannot get in touch with the guy who build it. He is long gone :( Thanks for you input, advice needed badly!

Opening the case & looking at it is the best way to know for sure what board you have.

Dont be afraid of the phillips screwdriver it will not hurt you.;)

You should definitely upgrade your BIOS but for heaven's sake make sure you know exactly what board you have and what BIOS you need for it.

If you flash it with the wrong one you can do some serious damage to your system.
