What would you guys recommend as a good Motherboard cpu combo? Thinking bout giving Intel another shot , but havent used em in awhile so dunno where to start?

And whats Intel's version of say the Nforce2 Amd boards?

If you mean dual channel DDR mobos then you mean i865 or i875 chipset boards...Ie like the IC7 from Abit...There is even the older sis655 and the e7205 grantie bay mobos....Stick with the newer ones, though.

I wouldn't compare the nforce2 dual channel mobos to intels as the Nforce mobos do not get the same advanatge of dual channel ddr as the AMD cpu has no headroom to even take the extra bandwidth in most instanances....

For example....

Barton 400fsb chip produces 3.2gb/s of bandwidth, but then you run it with 2 sticks of pc3200 in which each offers 3.2gb/s of bandwidth and you see not a macth as they are cpu limited...

However Intel 800fsb p4c offers 6.4gb/s of theoretical bandwidth...couple that with 2 sticks of pc3200 means 2 x 3.2gb/s equals 6.4gb/s total...perfect balance...

Agreed, but i tend to lean more towards the 2.4c, seems to have a better overclock.. Will save you a bit of cash too..

Ditto. You may want to jsut get the retail CPU/Fan because that seems to allow some nice overclocks as well...
