Intel Z370 graphics resolution/refresh rate support

Hi,

I intend to purchase a new system that has an Intel Z370 chipset, and since I don't game, I intend to use the integrated Intel HD graphics. I also intend to get a Prism+ X340 monitor, which supports 3440 X 1440@100Hz.

Would the integrated Intel HD graphics support this resolution/refresh rate, or would I need a discrete graphics card?

I have an i5-4310m in my work laptop and when I work from home, I connect it to a 3440x1440p 75hz panel. I get the full resolution & refresh when using display port through the docking station, but not the built in HDMI (only other available port is VGA). It drops to 30hz through HDMI.

I would suspect a Z370 would be able to handle the extra 25hz as long as you are using an appropriate port to handle the bandwidth.

Intel HD graphics handles high refresh rate just fine.

Darn, I'll be getting a micro ATX motherboard, which only has DVI and HDMI.
If it is HDMI 2.0 you should be good, but I don't know if that is available yet for integrated. I would think so by now.

The HDMI port on the Prism is 2.0, so you're good there.
