For the match up with the X38 chipset, which supports 1333MHz FSB, Intel also plans to release Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 running at 1333MHx FSB in the third quarter. Running at 3 GHz, QX6850 features 4MBx2 L2 Cache and 130W TDP. The processor is set at a cost of US$999. At the time QX6850 is released, QX6800 is set at a lowered cost at US$999 as well.

Whew, glad I didn't wait for X38/Bearlake on my build, I thought it might come out in the summer, Q3 is too far.

mmmm.... i guess intel isnt going to use 1k numbers.

I wish X38 was SLI capable. Im getting tired of Nvidia. The 680i isnt anywhere near as reliable was my NF4 was, on my old Opty. :[

IIRC the X38s will require DDR3 memory as well. i dont think people will switch so soon.

Not that it really matters at debut prices. Won't be appropriately affordable for some weeks/months thereafter.

Yep this is what I was referring to. Especially not with DDR3, who knows how far off that is (in an affordable sense).
