Intel X25-M G2 very inconsistent scores

I just bought an Intel X25-M G2 80GB, and my PCmark vantage scores are very inconsistent to say the least, and pretty low on some tests.

running windows 7 Ultimate x64, ICH9 with ms-ahci driver (since I can't run Intel rapid storage on non raid chipset)

anyone else with this issue and possibly a solution?

my system specs are:
Gigabyte P35-DS3 rev 1.0
Intel Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz
6GB ram
radeon 5870
2x Western Digital 640GB (WD6400AAKS)
corsair hx520

Of course you can run the Intel driver on a non-RAID chipset but...can I ask, can you post a Crystal Diskmark score??? Not a fan of that benchmark.

I have intel chipset drivers installed, but still says I'm using the ms-ahci driver. cant install the intel RST driver.
so how do I use the intel SSD driver?

K...there is nothing at all wrong with those scores. They are actually better all around than alot of other 80Gb Intels I have seen. Lets go one step further shall we?

Shut your computer down by simply pushing and holding the power button. When you turn it back on, go into safe mode and do the Crystal test again...

With these scores, I actually think you already did that but if you didn't Ide like to see how that results.

Also, in The SSD Optimization Guide below, there are some key things that you want to make sure of (being in AHCI/cache buffering etc)

You can also confirm what driver is being used through a benchmark program called AS SSD.

Further, check device manager/ IDE ATA/ATAPI controller to see which is working...

There is no performance increase between the two (MSAHCI or Intel) in any case...it just helps some people to better sort out there scores a bit is all.

I actually did everything in that guide before my first post 🙂
AHCI seems to be active, Trim and NCQ is working, according to AS SSD benchmark, it uses the msahci driver, the ICH9 chipset is using intel drivers.
I would still like to try the Intel driver for the SSD, but the installer aborts, and the driver page doesn't list my chipset as supported, so how do I go about installing that driver?

and here is crystalmark in safe mode

so, anyone else having this issue with an Intel SSD and pcmark vantage(the same issue with pcmark05), or any SSD for that matter?
that graph shows 4 runs in a row, with intels toolbox run inbetween each test run.
feedback, much appreciated

No don't use that benchmark its crap.

i'm running an intel 160GB G2.

Based on the crystal mark numbers your drive is fine. Don't get hung up on one benchmark like not getting that extra 100 points in 3dmark2006.

Enjoy the SSD and move on!

ok I solved the issue, I managed to install the intel AHCI driver contained in the Intel rapid storage technology ver 9.6.0.1014 in the following driver packs on Windows 7 on my non raid ICH9 chip

32-bit Intel® RST Driver Files for F6 Install

64-bit Intel® RST Driver Files for F6 Install

Using a guide for installing the ICH9 driver on windows XP
http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/109450-how-to-enable-ahci-on-intel-ich9-under-xp/

it worked flawlessly on Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.
it solved the inconsistent scores I had in PCmark05 and Vantage.
