Tweakboy and oldhippie, you should be banned from posting for a month for posting this well-known nonsense!

If you took my post to be an endorsement of ANYTHING Tweakboy has said/will say you are the one who should be banned!

@old hippie: sarcasm doesn't work on the internet, we can't hear the inflection in your voice or see your incredulous facial expression. Don't use it.

@tweakboy: tricking people into damaging their hardware is not nice. 🙁

@Everyone else: Tweakboy is lying to you to trick people into ruining their SSDs, he does that all the time. Never defrag your SSD.

I would have thought the  let my feelings be known and anyone that has read anything here knows better than to listen to him.

If skid00skid00 has no backgound with the situation maybe he should read before he reacted.

Beside that, who died and left you "Forum God"?

it wasn't a command, it was sound advice, feel free to ignore it and get into unnecessary disagreements and arguments; or worse, get penalized because a mod didn't realize you were being sarcastic.
I have been burned again and again by using sarcasm and having it not detected. Nowadays I always write [sarcasm] before actually using it just to be safe...

Beside that, who died and left you "Forum God"?

Now I understand. I used sarcasm on a few occasions, and you responed like I was serious. I'll have to start using your marker.

Ah, sorry about that. But as I said, I can't hear your voice, see your face, and all I know you as is "FishArk". I don't know your age, gender, etc. (not that I am asking you to share those).
You can get to somewhat know someone from their posts, but if the first few posts I came across were posts where you used unmarked sarcasm then I could end up with a very skewed perception of you... For all I know you were serious, especially because I have yet to find a saying, no matter how ridiculous, just google "flat earth society" for an example.

I thought the sarcasm was pretty easy discernible, but on the other hand it's tweakboy we're talking about, so color me prejudiced 😉

For new users it may be more problematic, but I really would take anything with a grain of salt from someone with such posts and don't we even have a FAQ for that basic stuff?

actually it was old hippie and fishak who used sarcasm... not tweakboy.
and YOU might not all people involved... but not everyone does.

Yeah I mean they were making fun of tweakboy, which makes it kind of obvious for the regular guests on the forum (although I'm still not sure about tweakboy, for all we know it could be a pretty involved experiment.. or he could be a script, or..). But I agree that it can lead to problems.

I just realized a source of confusion. The Windows 7 utility diskpart shows 1024KB as an offset which means 2048 bytes. This is correct.
