Price of the drive just changed from 274.75 to 229.99.

Now it's 204.99 after MIR.

Hopefully it'll stay at the price long enough for the rebate to start.

Click on find rebates and search for SSD rebates, should be the first one on the list.

I can't say which is better, I don't have either, but if you can wait, the x25 looks like a good deal. Hopefully amazon keeps that price when the rebate starts.

Here's something from tom's hardware...

If you're still on a system limited by SATA 3Gb/s, there are many more options. Intel's SSD 320 rectifies some of the shortcomings of the X25-M. But if your just a general consumer, there isn't any reason to overlook the second-gen X25-M. Intel's newest SSD achieves better sequential write and random write performance thanks to its larger cache. However, the move to 25 nm comes at the cost of random read performance. This is a situation where the X25-M continues to outperform its successor.

I was actually going to wait until next month but I don't mind doing rebates so if the price is right.

Warm deal. Better than normal price for sure, but it has been under $200 AR a few times, I think as low as $180 or $170.

Which is better the X25 or 320?

AFAIK the X25M G1 and G2, plus the 320 all use the same controller but different firmware. The 320 basically has the latest firmware and gets a bit better performance, so I would get the 320 if pricing was the same.

It was $165 AR with a free game (Lost Planet 2?) last Black Friday. I've not seen it lower since.

Is the rebate in the form of a AMEX pre-paid card? The last time I did this deal through Amazon, the rebate came in the form of a AMEX pre-paid - which isn't too bad if you have a cell phone bill to pay off - but others may not like it that it's not a check.

These prepaid cards are pretty easy to use at B&M stores like Walmart or Target.
