Intel Wirless Mouse is Sticky

I recently installed the Intel Wirless Mouse and Keyboard.
Everything worked to perfection... and kept working ok for sometime. Off late, I am noticing that my mouse is sticky.
Specially when I try moving it sideways...(L-R), nothing happens. Then I give it a jerk and it works... but thats too uncomrtable.
I checked the ball and cleaned it (anyways its so new)...but not much help.

Is it some hardware or software problem?
