Intel Wireless Mouse conflict

Hi, I recently installed an Intel Wireless mouse with base on my computer and I had been having problems since. The wireless function on the mouse is fine but for some reason everytime when I tried to use the modem to dial out the computer freeze and when I use Alt-Ctl-Del it shows msgsrv32.exe is not responding. However, when I closed that program then everything works.... Until about a few minutes after being online for a while (few more windows opened) then the computer start to freeze up on me. I could not restart... and could only reset or turn if off. I've uninstalled the mouse and replaced it w/ my old optic mouse and no problem now.... Can anyone help me figure how to get my wireless mouse to work w/o the problem w/ the modem. In addition, I also have the same problem if I tried to sync my iPAQ thru USB and trying to use the modem at the same time (w/ the mouse installed).

my basic setting is p3 733 on CUSL2, 256mb, running on WinMe.
Thanks

usb on your system is improperly installed. boot to safe mode, delete all usb related drivers. reboot. let windows redetect the hardware. you will need your installation CD and you may need your motherboard's CD as well, AND your installation CDs for any usb devices you want to use.

run windowsupdate to see if any applicable patches have to be applied to winme.

(i hate winme).

should the above does not help...

do you have a usb modem?

if not, do you have a pci modem?

if so, are those 2 devices sharing the same irq?

if they are, move your modem to another slot.
